I think I may have stumbled upon a new twist on smoothies for breakfast. Not only am I famous for my smoothies, but my oatmeal is pretty darn good! So for the past couple of days I have tried something different by putting all of the ingredients for the oatmeal into the blender. Blend on medium to break it up but not purée, pour into a bowl and microwave for 1-1/2 mins and you have oatmeal without getting a pan dirty! It takes a fraction of the time of preparing it on the stove.
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup of coaches oats
A few dried cranberries
A couple of dried plums
seven or eight raw almonds
Four- five pieces of frozen pineapple
Blend on med to break it up
pour into a bowl and microwave for 1-1/2 mins
Top with Fage Greek Yogurt
Yumm!
